Preparation and properties of rubber nanocomposites based on natural rubber/ ethylene propylene diene monomer reinforced with nanosilica, carbon black and barium sulfate

In this work, rubber nanocomposites based on natural rubber/ethylene propylene diene monomer (NR/EPDM) blends and reinforced with nanosilica (NS) in combination carbon black (CB) barium sulfate (BS) were prepared by melt blending method a Brabender internal mixer. The appropriate contents of NS CB for reinforcing the NR/EPDM are 10 30 phr (parts per hundred rubber), respectively. material has best mechanical properties that enhancement tensile strength over 117% 40 % compared to nanocomposite unreinforced only NS, content BS replacement blend is 6 phr. (60/40) 24 tight structure, high properties, especially, alkali resistance heat resistance, abrasion low endogenous due rotation friction. This may be used manufacture technical products require stability alkaline environments, such as conveyor belts cement industry.
